BIO
Alexandra Ksenofontova completed her PhD in comparative literature at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School of Literary Studies, based at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. She is the author of The Modernist Screenplay: Experimental Writing for Silent Film (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020) and has published several articles on silent screenwriting.
She is the co-founder of the German research network Drehbuchforschung that seeks to increase the visibility of screenwriting research in the German-speaking academia. Alexandra Ksenofontova served as the Early Career Representative on the Executive Council of the Screenwriting Research Network in 2019/20 and has been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Screenwriting since 2019.
Besides screenwriting, her research interests include narratology, Digital Humanities, and genre theory.
