SRN Awards 2020-21

The SRN AWARDS will celebrate their 2nd edition at SRN2021 with nominated titles published between 1 June 2019 and 31 May 2021. Check out the lists of nominees below.

The Awards will be again in two categories:  

Best Monograph (£300) – for single-authored or co-authored volumes (any format)

Best Journal Article/Book Chapter (£100) – this category now also includes chapters from edited books

The prize money this year is kindly funded by the School of Arts of Oxford Brookes University, as part of the activities promoted by CIRIN (Creative Industries Research & Innovation Network).



All submissions have been evaluated independently by our Jury of distinguished academics:

  • Professor Janet Staiger, William P. Hobby Centennial Professor Emerita of Communication and Professor Emerita of Women’s and Gender Studies, The University of Texas at Austin, USA
  • Professor Tom Stempel, Professor Emeritus in Film, Los Angeles City College, USA
  • Associate Professor Eva Novrup Redvall, University of Copenhagen, Denmark


The winners will be announced ‘live’ by the Jury during the closing session of SRN2021 on Day 5, Friday 17 September at 7pm (UK time).

Following the announcement, each winner will give a 30’ lecture about the research that led to their publications.
